Learn the secret to movable jaw masks under the guidance of Lillian Vaughan Lemhouse, costume designer and historic clothing enthusiast since 1996. She most recently created Fafnir the Dragon for the 2019 Junction City Scandinavian Festival, and she'll be sharing her lessons-learned for a basic mask design that can be customized to each participant's exciting vision.

These masks will be perfect for transforming into animals, either real or imaginary, so come with your ideas! Whether you dream of stalking through the jungle as a tiger or howling at the Halloween moon as a werewolf, this class will give you the foundation for a full-head, cardboard mask form over a fabric balaclava that you can take home to decorate.

Lillian uses natural and recycled materials wherever possible. We encourage participants to bring paper, fabric, strings, buttons, etc for decorating their masks as time allows.

Registration and $20 fee supply fee required. Register by emailing library@ci.brownsville.or.us or calling 541.466.5454.

Let's get creative, learn new skills and have fun!
