READING COLORS YOUR WORLD

2021 SUMMER READING PROGRAM

It iss our final week of the Summer Reading program. Participants will go on a Scavenger Hunt around the Library Park. AFterward, they used items they found to make paperbag puppets! The Library will also give out snacks and a drink for thirsty participants. During the summer, we will give away free books to children that participated in the Summer Reading Program. Once the children received their free book, they were able to choose a used book the following weeks. We would like to thank our partners The Friends of the Brownsville Community Library and the Brownsville Women’s Study Club.

Summer Reading Program benefits are clear. Children that participate in a Summer Reading Program maintain higher reading scores in the new school year than those who do not participate. Kids who read, succeed. Not only in school, but in life. Your Library is here to help continue reading and listening to stories. Audio books are a great way to share stories, especially on trips!
