Summer Reading Program Week 3

On a Friday July 19, we had our third summer reading program event at the Brownsville Library. We have had some really great activities and speakers the last few weeks, but this week was exceptional! Although the number in attendance was low, the level of engagement was high!

Our presentation was put on by Mia Jackson, Outreach Coordinator of the Museum of Natural & Cultural History at the University of Oregon. There were several hands on activities offered both indoors and outdoors. A few of the activities included ‘Your weight on the moon,’ ‘Building with balance,’ and ‘Energy powers our world.’ All the activities were related to our program theme ‘Universe if stories.’

This much enjoyed event was paid for by the Brownsville Women’s Study Club. Join us for our last Summer Reading Program event, details below.

Friday July 26th, from 11-12pm - Preschool and younger children- Junk Art Journals - Create a story with the Junk Art you build and make, write them down with journals made from cereal boxes and more! Preteen and Older- Join us as we create our own comics, and make projects involving our favorite superheroes!
