Night Gardens

Master Gardener and community member, Janet Warthen joined over 45 Summer Reading Program participants and family members on Friday for Night Gardens.  Janet read books including THE CARROT SEED and 10 LITTLE CATERPILLARS to our young readers.

Planting stations were waiting outside the library for participants to scare away Friday the 13th and plant a mood garden to invite fairies and pixies to Dream Big!

Students at Central Linn Elementary School were Dreaming about Pets this week with Jodi Savage and her assistant, Katie from Safehaven Humane Society during the Summer Reading Program, Dream Big...Read.  Approximately 72 participants, family members, and helpers discussed the importance of What Pets Need.  Food, water, bed, medical care, a forever home, love, and affection were some of the many necessities to pet ownership.

Safehaven and their visitors--Sergio, a terrier mix, and two kittens, Walnut and Fresco, were introduced to the anxiously-awaiting-to-pet-them group.  Instructions were given to the participants on how to care for their Dream Pet; in addition to providing ways to locate lost pets with microchip technology.
