Summer Reading Program Week 1

Tie-Dye with Pioneer Picnic Princesses
Summer Reading Program Week 1

The Brownsville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, Dream Big…READ, began by tie dying t-shirts with the Pioneer Picnic Princesses and their chaperone, Angie Moote.   Fifty-seven participants and family members were separated into two groups.  One group listened to Princess Kaitlyn read some of her favorite children’s stories, while the other group spent time with Summer Reading Program Coordinator, Sarah Glenn,  and Pioneer Picnic Queen, Rose Gerber learning many design techniques for their tie dye projects.   Each group then rotated allowing Queen Rose to share some stories with readers.  When finished, the participants decorated the sidewalk with chalk artwork.  A big thank you to Librarian, Sherri Lemhouse, and all of the volunteers, including Sandy Sayer and Beth Kropf.
