Celebrating Brownsville Arbor Day

Fun activities at your Library
Celebrating Brownsville Arbor Day

October is Tree month at the Library! We will be celebrating different trees and more each week! Parents and Pals story time is each Tuesday beginning at 10:15. This is followed by a free play group on the Brownsville Linn Rec Center, weather depending. Each Friday we have a Story Time followed by a free craft time from 11 – Noon.

Friday, October 14 the Library is celebrating Brownsville Arbor Day. We will have our special story time with Librarian Sherri. This will be followed by craft time! We will be making a craft out of local pine cones. The Brownsville Art Center would like to display your creations through Saturday.

Saturday, October 15 beginning at 10 am the City of Brownsville and other local organizations have many fun activities planned. Including a ribbon cutting in honor of the remodeled landscape at City Hall and Art Center, demonstration of an old-fashioned cider pressing, a treasure hunt, ivy eradication demonstration in the Park, refreshments and more!

Friday, October 21 at Story Time we will be learning about Apple Trees! Such wonderful trees that can grow in your back yard or alongside the road. Our craft will correspond with these lovely fruit.

Friday, October 28 our Story Time will make leaf pictures from leaves found around the Library and Park landscape. Bring a few dried leaves to share if you have time! We will read The Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert to gather some ideas.

I am looking forward to having you join us for these fun activities here at the Library! If you have any questions, please contact me at 541.466.5454 or email me at library@ci.brownsville.or.us.
