Legacy Ballet Performer Molly Beach and sister Emily was a delight to have at our Library on Friday for a special reading of Nutcracker. 20 participants joined us for this unique program. Miss Beach read a brand new copy of Nutcracker by Susan Jeffers. This delightful reading was accompanied by music from the Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Ballet and guest were able to dance as snowflakes, mice, and of course the Sugar Plum Fairy. Afterward Mrs. Elizabeth Beach helped the children make a Nutcracker puppet complete with jeweled belts and a feather in his cap. To end the festive morning each family was presented by Molly ‘Clara’ Beach with their own nutcracker. Librarian Sherri was there with camera in hand to take a photo of everyone with ‘Clara’. A compilation off these photos will be on our website beginning on Wednesday. Miss Beach is performing in the Russell Tripp Performance Center at Linn Benton Community College December 12 and 13 at 7 pm and December 14 at 2 and 7 pm. For tickets go to www.linnbenton.edu/russelltripptheater or call 541.917.4531

We have received our Ready To Read Grant funding for this year’s Summer Reading Program. Our theme is ‘FIZZ BOOM READ’ Sarah Glenn is planning on adding an afternoon program for older elementary students. These young people have enjoyed so many years of great programing, we need to continue their interest in reading during the summer! If you have any ideas or would like to volunteer to help, please let me know!

Our very first Library Calendar is now available! After brainstorming for ideas, we came up with the idea of a Library Calendar. For $15 you can see photos of the many activities that have happened at the Library this past year. I have placed a sample at the front desk for display. The proceeds from the calendar sales and the Book Sale go to support books and programs at your Library.
