Beverly Cleary's Birthday Celebration
Celebrating the 100th Birthday of Beverly Cleary

Parents and Pals celebrated Oregon Author Beverly Cleary’s 100th Birthday on Tuesday morning. Librarian Sherri started the celebration by singing some songs, acting out finger plays and reading stories that Mrs. Cleary might have enjoyed if she were a child today. We participated in DEAR (Drop Everything And READ).  Story Time was followed by the participants a simple craft. In Ramona and Her Father central character Ramona makes a crown out of burrs. You can imagine the patience Ramona’s Father used in getting these untangled from her hair! Our craft did not involve burrs. Librarian Sherri had the Cricut machine cut out wonderful design for the children to color and glue on some bling from the craft closet! Mrs. Cleary would approve of the children’s programing at our Library. Happy Birthday Beverly Cleary!
